Congratulations, Rachel Sharp Upshaw, for Winning the “2 Years 10 Best” Award!
Associate Rachel Sharp Upshaw was recently honored with the “10 Best” family law attorneys for the second year in a row by the American Institute of Family Law Attorneys™ (AIOFLA). The AIOFLA is an impartial organization that recognizes excellence in both the attorney and their level of client satisfaction. Candidates are ranked “10 Best” by state in six areas of practice. Rachel was named one of the 10 best family law attorneys in the state of Tennessee for the second year in a row, and the law office of Miller Upshaw Family Law, PLLC could not be prouder of her!
How are candidates chosen for the “10 Best” award?
Attorneys are nominated by their peers or by a member of the AIOFLA board. The AIOFLA Board of Regents reviews the list of nominees and selects the finalists for the “10 Best” award according to the following criteria: (from the AIOFLA website):
- 10/10 in client satisfaction reviews
- Top rated attorneys in their field
- Must be an industry leader
- No unresolved complaints
- Awards and recognition
- Association memberships
- Publications on subject matter in their area of practice
- Speaking engagements
- Education and continued education
The American Institute believes that most awards given for excellence fail to take the attorney/client relationship into full account, and they are offering a new way for people in need of legal services to assess an attorney’s attention to their clientele. When a prospective client sees that an attorney has won a “10 Best” award in client satifsfaction, they can be assured that this candidate has won the approval of not just other attorneys, but of their clients.
