Joellyn Kott, Paralegal

Joellyn Kott joined Miller Upshaw Family Law, PLLC, in 2007. Since then, she has been “Command Central” at our firm, working hands-on with our clients to ensure their needs are met. Naturally warm and empathetic, Joellyn is often the first person you meet on the team, and her genuine passion for helping others is apparent from the very first “hello.” Though she relies on her formal education, training, and experience when it comes to providing dedicated, quality service to clients and the attorneys, it’s her passion for helping people that motivates her the most.

Before joining our firm, Joellyn worked in the field of corporate marketing and promotions. She discovered that what drove her and inspired her was not necessarily the marketing work itself, but the relationships she built with her firm’s clients and vendors. Her people-first attitude, coupled with a long-time interest in how the law affected both her industry and her clients, led Joellyn to change careers and pursue a new line of work. She went for her Certificate in Paralegal Studies, joined our firm – and hasn’t looked back.

When she is not helping us build a case to protect our clients, you will find Joellyn spending time with loved ones and devoting herself to worthy causes. Joellyn believes that time well-spent is time spent with others. Several groups have benefited from her dedication to community involvement and advocacy activities, including United Way, American Red Cross, American Lung Association, and animal welfare organizations.
