Who are Miller and Upshaw?
Karla C. Miller built this firm with a small on-site staff more than 20 years ago. She is an award-winning Nashville family law and divorce attorney who is consistently honored for her commitment to client satisfaction from multiple objective ratings services, but she also serves her community by being active in a number of non-profit organizations. Her pro bono work on behalf of service members who are returning to their civilian jobs after deployment oversees has been recognized by the Military Officers Association of America and the U.S. Department of Defense “Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve” Committee. Karla also serves on the Board of Tennessee Citizen Action, Tennessee’s premier consumer rights advocacy group.
Rachel S. Upshaw fights tirelessly on behalf of families throughout Middle Tennessee. Since joining our firm in 2008, she has been honored with multiple awards highlighting her skills. She has worked with the legal community as well as with the nonprofit organization ZERO TO THREE to advocate for better access to quality pediatric and child care, as well as more flexibility for maternity leave.

Karla C. Miller has devoted her entire career to the practice of family law in Tennessee. She attended Auburn University and Nashville School of Law, and upon graduation in 1996, she opened her own law firm and has been assisting families throughout Tennessee since then.
